    Patagonia Sun Mask
“Better than Buff” - I like this sun mask more than I like the Buff brand sun masks. This one is a little softer and seems to hold itself on your neck better.

Orvis Encounter Fly Rod Outfit carnold55
    Orvis Encounter Fly Rod Outfit
“Great setup for beginners” - I bought this for my wife as she started to pick up fly fishing. The kit is a great price for someone that wants to learn and they won't outgrow the setup for a long time. My main complaint is the fly line that comes with it, I would recommend replacing the fly line early with something nicer (Rio or Orvis).

Orvis Encounter Wading Boot - Rubber carnold55
Orvis Encounter Wading Boot - Rubber
“Junk, not comfortable” - I really dislike these boots. I own them and they've been replaced by Orvis twice already. The gravel guard loops have come off but its not like they worked very well anyway. The price tag looks appealing with the name brand, high quality sole but these clunky, blocky boots are the first thing getting replaced next season. Seriously, spend fifty more dollars and get something better.

    Orvis Recon Fly Rod carnold55
    Orvis Recon Fly Rod
“Premium fly rod for half the price!” - For me, it was between a Helios 2 and this rod. I was told the two were built on almost the same blank by the guy at the fly shop and the Helios just had a lot of upgraded features. The Recon is very lightweight and has a high quality feel, I liked it the most of all the mid-range "luxury" fly rods. It is also nice because it comes with an aluminum rod tube for storage and travel.

Fishing in Utah in late March
I would like to combine some fishing with some skiing in late March. I know the Green River is a good place to go but are there any other decent options closer to SLC? Thanks for your time...

    Sage Approach Fly Rod kootenay_kid
    Sage Approach Fly Rod
“Great all around trout rod” - This rod is my first Sage product and I am extremely happy with it. I put about 100 days on it fishing everything from dries, to nymphs and even articulated streamers with a weighted sink tip. I had zero issues fighting fish or casting anything I wanted. I have dropped it a few times admittedly while on the river and the rod has held up great. I would for purchase this rod again!

    Patagonia Stealth Atom Sling
“Great sling for wading” - I really enjoy this sling. I find it very useful that it sit son your back out of your way when casting. There is nothing up front to hang your line on. It's easily swung around to the front to get at everything you need. It has handy placement for hemostats, nipper, tippet, the works. The internal pockets hold slimmer fly boxes better than bulking ones for sure, but hold more then enough to ...

    Patagonia Stormfront Pack carnold55
    Patagonia Stormfront Pack
“Great bag, a little too minimal” - As a self proclaimed "'Goniaholic" I can surely say that I love this brand and what it entails. This is a great bag for wading since it appears to be completely waterproof. At almost $300 the bag is kind of pricey but, to be fair, all other bags (orvis, simms, fishpond, etc.) of this style are just as expensive. It's a fairly large bag which leaves plenty of room for your gear,...

    Echo Fiberglass Fly Rod
“Echo Fiberglass Fly Rod Review” - I bought the 8'6" 4 weight Echo Glass "Big Water" rod and it is a excellent dry fly rod. The extra length and power makes casting dry flies easier at a distance while still being accurate and delicate at close range. The downlocking reel seat is a cool old school addition.

“Good addition” - These are a good addition to your boots, great for helping on certain surfaces like logs and rough rocks, but not so great on rivers with large smooth and slick rocks, you end up skating over them, try aluminum in that situation or a bit of both
