Jeff Faulkner

Fishwest Ambassador

Jeff was raised in Southern California in a family with a deep angling tradition that was constantly outside looking for a spot to cast in hopes of landing a fish. Luckily for Jeff, his dad was an adventurer, and he spent his youth wearing out his trusty spinning reels from the Baja California coast to the Colorado River and everywhere else he found himself.

Jeff is a third generation builder; he built his first rod at age nine with the help of his dad and has been consistently making them since. He loves to build rods with non-traditional layouts and materials.

Today, Jeff resides in Kamas, Utah—a town located at the base of the famed Uinta Mountains. He spends the majority of his fishing time on the tailwaters and freestone creeks in the surrounding area. Jeff recently got the itch to explore the other angling opportunities available in the area, which led to the discovery of bass, carp, tiger musky, pike, wiper, and anything else that will chase a fly.

When Jeff isn’t on the water, he’s in his shop wrapping rods, researching spots to fish, taking care of his horses with the help of his kids, or loitering around Fishwest Fly Shop in Kamas, Utah.
