The Tibor (pronounced TEE-bor) Reel Corporation is the brainchild of master engineer Ted Jurasik. Tibor was created when Ted Jurasik met saltwater angler Billy Pate on a trip to the famed Florida Keys, where the two became fast friends through a shared love of fishing for Tarpon. Pate and Ted faced the same challenges with reels of the time by simply being overpowered and overmatched by the large saltwater species they were chasing. After many prototypes the Billy Pate reel was introduced and instantly established a new standard for quality, design, and durability of Saltwater fly-fishing reels. Fast forward to today and Tibor holds over 950 current or former IGFA world records for gamefish around the world.
