One of the finest in class

Light, strong, large arbor, excellent 7lb. drag, beautifully machined, nicely finished, perfectly counterbalanced, no start up inertia. And a good price. These are a sleeper, one of the finest reels in its class.
Beautiful reel

These are beautiful reels. Light, stiff, great sealed drag, easy spool change. I use one for a 6-7 wt saltwater and steelhead.Love it. I have an XL which is for 6-7 wt. I use it for light saltwater, steelhead and carp. One of the finest reels I have ever owned.
Great reel for little money

I bought this reel for my new 5 wt. fly rod and am impressed with the quality of the reel. It is much lighter than I expected, even after loading the line and backing. The drag is incredible. One thing I love is that making adjustments to the drag is extremely easy. I have other reels that tighten quickly with the smallest movement of the adjustment knob. When you're fighting a fish, it can be a problem to quickly reach for the knob and realize that the small 1/8 of a turn you just added was too much. I can give the Nautilus a quick 1/4 turn and know that I haven't tightened too far. If you really want to lock it down, a couple of turns and you get more drag than you should ever need.Lastly, the styling is great and it looks amazing on the rod. When I looked at the various reel shootouts online, it is one of the only reels that consistently finishes in the top 2 or 3. A great reel for the money!
One Of The Best Out There!

I own the XL for my 6 weight and love it! I've had it only for a month and it's reeled in everything from trout, bass, carp and walleye. What's really impressive is the large arbor which allows for maximum line retrieval. Also, it's lightness is just a delight. Finally, it's impossible to review a Nautilus reel without mentioning the drag. It's just awesome. The drag range is really exceptional, not quite the CCFX2, but impressive nonetheless. Whatever you have hooked, you'll be able to dial in your drag.
