The G Series from Scott Fly Rods is a modern take on the traditional medium action fly rod. A 20% decrease in overall weight was achieved by using internal hollow ferrules, allowing for a smooth flex profile throughout the entire rod blank. Available in rod weights 2-6, these are designed to be true trout rods. Each rod is equipped with titanium guides, a lightweight reel seat, and multi-slope tapers, making the latest generation of the Scott G one of the most advanced. Medium action dry fly rod.

I liked the old G2 so I thought I'd try a new one. Its awesome. The 5 wt is a solid medium fast rod, faster than the G2 and much faster recovery. Much easier to cast. Its amazingly accurate up to about 30 feet. Being so soft its not great at distance and you won't win any casting contests. Great for dries and small nymphs; not so good with larger weighted rigs. What it does do I think it does better than any other rod of its type. Classic Scott finish.
