Guided Uintas Fly Fishing Trip
The Uinta Mountains are commonly referred to as the “roof of Utah.” With many of the highest peaks in the range exceeding 13,000 feet, it may come as a surprise that the Uintas are also home to some incredible high country fly fishing as well. With thousands of lakes and many small streams in the area, an angler could spend a lifetime fishing this area and not run out of areas to explore. Our experienced guides will lead you to some of the best fly fishing in this vast wilderness area, where you’ll have the opportunity to catch everything from native cutthroat trout, arctic grayling, eastern brook trout, and even tiger trout. The Location
The High Uintas Wilderness, spanning over 460,000 acres is the largest wilderness area in the state of Utah. Known for its rugged peaks, picturesque lakes, and countless miles of rivers and streams--most of which contain either brook trout, cutthroat trout, tiger trout, grayling, rainbow trout, or even the rare golden trout. Anglers will find abundant and diverse opportunities to wet a line in the rivers and streams within the range.
The Fishery
Given our proximity to the Uinta Wasatch Cache National Forest, Fishwest and our guide team in conjunction with JANS Mountain Outfitters in Park City, has been granted a special access permit to guide within this area. This special access permit allows our team of guides the opportunity to explore any body of water within the natonal forest boundary giving us the chance to tailor an expereince to exactly what you are looking for.
Our fly shop serves as the kickoff point for all these guided fishing adventures due to the proximity to SR-150 known to many as the Mirror Lake Highway, which serves as the main access point to the Unita National Forest.
